Actress' agent questioned over alleged handset rigging

SEOUL, Jan. 29 (Yonhap) -- Police said Thursday they were interrogating the president of one of the nation's largest entertainment agencies over his alleged involvement in replicating a handset used by top actress Jeon Ji-hyun to track her communications.

Chung Hoon-tak, president of Sidus HQ, was summoned to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency early Thursday morning to face questioning about his role in the handset rigging, police said. Chung is alleged to have hired an outside agent to enable Sidus HQ officials to monitor over 10 phone records and text messages of the number used by the 27-year-old Jeon in late November of 2007. The number was registered under her father's name.

Jeon boasts enormous star power in South Korea and has also enjoyed popularity throughout Asia as a commercial model for such popular brands as Coca Cola. Her big break came after her performance in the hit movie "My Sassy Girl." "We plan to find out how deeply he was involved in the case, whether he directly ordered the rigging or if he was aware of the situation even when not having given direct instructions to do so," a police officer said.

Business insiders have said Jeon was on bad terms with her agent due to his alleged interference in her personal life and was planning not to renew her contract with the firm. She signed with Sidus HQ during high school more than 10 years ago.

Goo Hye Sun gets injured

Apparently, another accident happened to the Boys Over Flowers cast. This time, the main actress Goo Hye Sun hurts her head.

I don't know about more details but if you read korean:here

Flowers may wilt, but the F4 can save a life

Four “flower boys” from the KBS-TV drama. [KBS-TV]

I die whenever a relationship ends. Of course, I die mentally. How could you not? It’s the end of the world when a loved one leaves. But no need to despair. A whole new world soon opens. There are, however, times when a new world seems to be thousands of miles away. But I always have a good friend to rely on - TV dramas.

Most recently, a KBS-TV drama, whose title could translate as “Flowers Second, Boys First” (“Kkotboda Namja”), is one such consolation. Based on a Japanese comic book series of the same title, it’s the perfect comforter for any girl with a broken heart.

Despite acquaintances shooting me text messages asking “So, how’s your boyfriend?” in the most carefree way that you can imagine, this show gives me strength. And what’s more, I heard that a Korean version of “Flowers Second” is being made.

I’m saved.

The story goes like this. There are four pretty boys who are known as F4, or “Flower Boys 4.” (I know, it sounds very Japanglish, but no matter. Why? They ARE pretty anyway).

One more thing. They’re not just pretty. They are filthy rich. Born with the finest silver spoons in their pretty mouths. And then there’s the front girl, Jan-di, the epitome of the girl next door, poor as a church mouse, cute in her own way but plain in most people’s eyes.

In other words: a survivor.

As you can imagine, the F4 leader, Jun-pyo falls in love with Jan-di and her indomitable spirit. But Jan-di fancies another F4 cutie, Ji-hu, and later falls in love with Jun-pyo, the leader. So there are double love triangles and a great deal of pretty and rich boys kneeling down before the Cinderella figure.

In a way, I’d like to refer to this story as the Marxist Cinderella story. “You guys haven’t earned a single penny with your own hands, so you should be ashamed of yourselves!” she yells. Not surprisingly, this Korean version is not the first TV edition of the comic book. There have already been Taiwanese and Japanese versions. News has it that Japanese and Chinese viewers are already comparing the three versions.

I would vote for the Japanese version as the best, but I have to admit that I love the Korean girl character the most. True to character, she survives using her wits not her looks. Plus, the F4 characters are killer actors - all four of them. Thank God for that. No wonder almost every girlfriend of mine has screen IDs like “Don’t talk to me from 10 to 11 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays,” when the show airs.

Well, you can’t blame them. This show is pure escapism.

Another virtue of the drama, aside from featuring the boys taking showers or swimming, is that it remains true to the comic book story. Just like its Japanese predecessor, the show follows the same storyline of the comic book. If it hadn’t, I wouldn’t have time to write this column, as I would be leading a protest in front of the KBS building in Yeouido, Seoul, for ruining the greatest comic book in human history.

So the world ends, but a new one opens pretty soon, because, thankfully, TV networks keep pumping out painkiller dramas like “Flowers Second.”

Kim Hyeon-jung Cites "Split Personality" over Drama Role

In real life, he would choose first love Han Chae-young.

"I thought I would try to avoid criticism for my first acting role. But I'm getting some heat. People say my dialogue deliverance is still awkward. I didn't understand when actors said the character must be internalized. I'm realizing the meaning and will gradually improve my acting."

Kim Hyeon-jung (23) interviewed with KBS on the set of the hit KBS 2TV drama "Boys over Flower" while wearing the uniform of "Sinhwa High School," where he is a student in the drama.

He was closely monitoring his shots despite the hectic filming schedule. He plays Yoon Ji-hu, one of the popular school foursome known as "F4" and the grandson of a former president. Tensions flared from the fifth episode as he created a love triangle with Gu Jun-pyo (played by Lee Min-ho) over heroine Geum Jan-di (Gu Hye-seon). "I'm rather shy like Ji-hu and my actual facial expressions when I meet a stranger come out during acting. Ji-hu has many internal wounds so conveying facial expressions is, I think, more difficult than saying lines."

"I thought we would shoot in the order of the storyline but we first shot the overseas scene in New Caledonia and Macao. My head was bursting from having to constantly show different emotions. On one film set, I changed into six different outfits. Waiting like for eight hours on set was also tough. We barely had time to eat. But memorizing the lines is not difficult at all. I can easily remember them by just reading them out loud a few times."

He said his most memorable scene in the series so far was in episode 5, when Ji-hu confessed his feelings to Jan-di at their school hideout. He also said he read the original Japanese comic and found the scene interesting when Ji-hu asks Jan-di to date him behind Gu Jun-pyo's back. He said it's not his opinion alone, and that many other readers also regard this scene as highly important in the plot development.

Until the sixth episode, Kim is "sandwiched" between the younger Jan-di and elder Min Seo-hyeon (Han Chae-young). "I was never in a love triangle in real life. In real life, I would choose Min because she is the one whom Ji-hu liked first. I believe first love is more important. For me, when I'm dating, I make it a rule not to be distracted by any other person." "I used to like girls the same age as myself but I now know that age matters little in love."

He must have felt uneasy about the kiss scenes in his first acting role. One famous anecdote is well known by now. He had a kiss scene during a brief appearance in the KBS 2TV sitcom "Can love be refilled?" Before the scene, he asked the staff if he needed to put his tongue in his partner's mouth. He revealed the story only recently on an entertainment program.

"Kissing with Gu Hye-seon in New Caledonia was more nerve-racking than the scene with Han Chae-young later on, though the latter appears first in the drama. Now I joke around and am at ease with Gu. I've also become close with Lee Min-ho. We eat together and play billiards. Gu and Lee are both highly committed to their roles. I learn a lot from them."

Due to his aristocratic character, Kim finds himself more polite in speech and behavior in real life. His longtime friends from the Songpa district in Seoul make fun of him. "I live a high life on screen but drink soju in street stalls in real life. I feel I have a split personality (laugh)."

He is also proud of his group, SS501, who are currently missing two members, himself and Park Jeong-min, who is appearing in the musical "Grease."

"Their success will lay the groundwork for our resumed activity in July when we release a new album and begin our Asia tour. I just want to thank the three active members."

Lee Seung Gi - Yoon Eun Hye – Kang Dong Won – Love Triangle

After the casting of YEH for the female lead role, KDW & LSG has verbally agreed to appear in “Lady Castle”.

According to the production team, the drama is a Korean version of the American drama, "Gossip Girl" which is about high society set in the Upper East side of New York. Apparently, the American drama has a strong following in Korea.

The Korean version is also about high society in Korea. YEH plays the 2nd daughter of 3, heiress to a huge fortune. It’s a fantasy about her relationship with her poor house steward, played by KDW and the son of a very wealthy family, played by LSG.

The article then went on about YEH’s track record of hits with “Gong” and “Coffee Shop Prince” and that the role in "Lady Castle" is tailor made for her; that KDW’s return to the small screen after 5 years, is going to capture the hearts of the female fans, and that through this drama, LSG shows his determination to become an actor.
