KWON Sang-woo and LEE Bo-young will play the leading roles in the melodrama Seulpeumboda Seulpeun Iyagi (English translation: a story sadder than sadness). The film will be in the hands of debuting writer/director WON Tae-yeon, a poet.

The story is about a man and a woman who are in love with each other, but even though they know each other for a long time, they can’t express their feelings to each other. The film is scheduled for a release next year in March.

Both KWON and LEE have experience working with a poet-turned-writer/director. KWON worked with YOO Ha on Spirit of Jeet Keun Do: Once upon a Time in High School. LEE starred in YOO Ha’s A Dirty Carnival. Another writer who became a leading director is LEE Chang-dong who initially used to be a novelist.
