The house that Koreanwave star Won Bin built for his parents in his hometown at Jeongseon wins the 2008 Korean Architecture Award.
The house is located at Yeoryang-ri, Buk-myeon of Jeongseon-gun (= north of Jeongseon county). The 3-storey house was built with reinforced concrete building structures with total 387.08 square meters gross floor area on a 4608 square meter site.
The house is close to their old house that they used to live.
The special thing is that Won Bin once came across pop star and movie actor Jennifer Lopez's house in Beverly Hills, and he requested a modern style house design for his house but at the same time with a special design that could recapture memories of his childhood in his hometown.
Construction of the main building is in modern architectural style. But then the kitchen has a traditional agricultural warehouse, the way of burning wood in the main hall now becomes the use of heating system, and you can feel his considerations to his parents in many ways with these requests when building the house.
Last year when the house was under construction, there were talks in the neighborhood and they expressed enviably "Won Bin, who grew up gentle and nice, is filially pious to his parents and has given them a very good present."
